My good friend Winn Coslick and I were roommates in a crazy old tin-ceilinged loft in a cast-iron building on Howard Street, in SoHo, New York back in the late 90s. We squandered a lot of time back then sitting around playing guitars and listening to vinyl records, but he’s since gone on to write and produce a number of very good music-related films, including his latest rock venture, Losers Take All, chosen by Kevin Smith for his movie club. Smith declares “This movie is wonderful, man! It takes you right back to a period where Americans were making music in their basement . . . pre-grunge, even.
