Cynthia Listens Back to Some Old Rock

By Cynthia • September 25, 2013 • E-Verse Universe, Feature

It’s so refreshing to look back at old broadcasts of great music. I love the awkward staging, unnecessary props, and the innocent, self-imposed stiffness. Take for example, this broadcast of this great song, “She’s about a Mover,” by the Sir Douglas Quintet from an old NBC broadcast.

It must have been local because it is the 60’s and the announcer is Latino and mentions an obscure sponsor. Keep your eye on the keyboard player. He wants to rock out so badly but has to stay in line because that’s the way singers performed at the time.  Also notice the very long shirt collar points on the lead singer.

Speaking of retro outfits: Bonus! Isley Brothers classic. I love the cape and embellished coats. They look like kings!
