For more nun wackiness, see the TV show “The Flying Nun”, starring future two-time Oscar winner Sally Field as a nun who flies, and also Shelley Morrison, later to gain more fame playing put-upon maid Rosario on Will and Grace.

How about “The Trouble With Angels” and the sequel “Where Angles Go, Trouble Follows” with Haley Mills about an all girls catholic prep school.

Sister Act II needed at least a passing mention!

(And yes, I really was in Sister Act II, in the audience at the end of the movie. I’m the one in the beige habit and black veil. I even got to sing on stage between takes!)

I know this is a TV series, but the Fr. Dowling Mysteries which featured Tom Bosley as Fr. Dowling and Tracy Nelson as “Sister Steve” is worth mentioning. She was a little “dorky”–but not your average, stereotypical nun.
