“La Dolce Vita”: Lynn and Domo Travel to Italy

Lynn returned to her excavation of a pre-Roman, Etruscan acropolis at the Poggio Colla Field School in the Mugello Valley. Domo came along, promising to help out in the trenches. Here we go.
This is serious work, Domo. Lynn is an archaeoethnobotanist (say that fast ten times). She sets up a field lab to separate organic from inorganic matter so that scholars can learn more about the agricultural and cultural lives of the mysterious Etruscans.
The Mugello Valley is beautiful this time of year.
OK, everyone, you know the drill. We’re going to move all of that old dirt from there to over here. Where’s Domo? He said he’d help.
He’s in bed with a best-selling thriller!
Domo says “OK, OK, I’ll get up. What’s going on out there?”
The sunflowers are in bloom.
Lynn identifies the old Tuscan farm that she and Ernie will purchase, renovate, and live in . . . in their dreams.
Domo blends in with the Northern Italian landscape, but we can still see you in there, Domo.
Here is Lynn’s lab, but she spends most of the day under a tree at the field’s edge. This year a wild teenager in a Fiat crashed into the side of her lab, nearly knocking over one of her assistants.
Ahhhh, dirt.
Ooohhhhh, even better dirt.
And the find of the season: an ancient Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle head.
Say goodbye to Italy, Domo. It’s time to head to England!
