“Fuck The People” by The Kills: You can surely understand this sentiment, particularly when you’re at the post office just before Christmas. This power duo, Alison Mosshart with guitarist Jamie Hince, is cool, moody, sexy, angry, noirish, punk, and, again, because it bears repeating, cool. They’re so cool they seem to almost define it for the naughts the way Lou Reed did for the sixties. It is also worth noting that Jamie is the second guy on this list who dated Kate Moss that year. She’s a dowsing rod for high-quality new rock music. What did you think I meant by dowsing rod?
